Through My LenS
Finding Stillness in a
Busy World.
WELCOME
Hi, I’m Satyam.
My photography journey began not with a camera, but with a desire to connect more deeply with the present moment. As a nature lover and meditation practitioner, I found that looking through a lens helped me experience the world differently. Each photograph became a doorway to inner stillness and my subjects became pseudo teachers.
MY PROCESS
Photography as a Practice of Presence
Photography, for me, is more than capturing beautiful images—it’s a meditation, a practice of presence, and a dialogue with nature itself.
When I step into the field, whether it’s a frozen shoreline or a quiet woodland path, I don’t chase the perfect shot.
Instead, I invite nature to reveal itself to me. I often whisper to Spirit, “Bring me what I’m meant to see, and I will honor it by capturing it.”
Without fail, the universe responds, guiding my eyes to a bird perched or in mid-flight, a sunset refracting the sky and clouds, or a butterfly perfectly poised on a flower.
This process requires surrender, patience and trust.
I don’t force a moment; I allow it to find me.
When I hear the call of a bird or feel an intuitive nudge to look left instead of right, I follow it.
My work is less about technical precision and more about the art of noticing—being so attuned to the present moment that I can witness the extraordinary within the ordinary.
In this practice, I become part of the natural world rather than an observer of it.
I lie on cold, wet ground, my chin resting on a rock, waiting for a butterfly to land.
I stand, motionless, for hours, feeling the earth beneath me and listening to the subtle sounds of life.
The discomfort disappears when I’m immersed in the experience of presence.
Every photograph is a collaboration with nature—a moment gifted to me by the unseen forces that weave the world together.
There’s no checklist when I go out into nature, only curiosity and trust. I ask, I listen, I follow. The shot I’m meant to take always finds me.
And in that sacred exchange between me and the natural world, presence becomes a photograph you can feel.
Why I Photograph
I pick up my camera as a reminder—to pause, to breathe, to truly see. Photography invites me to witness the extraordinary beauty already pulsing through the world around us, often hidden in plain sight.
What began as a way to capture images has evolved into a personal meditation practice.
With a camera in hand and nature as my companion, I enter a state of presence that opens the door to deeper awareness.
In those quiet, focused moments, photography becomes more than art—it becomes a space for inner transformation.
Through this practice, I’ve discovered that being in nature with my camera helps reveal the fears and beliefs that quietly keep me tethered to my comfort zone. When those thoughts arise, I’ve learned to meet them with curiosity, asking, Is that really true? That single moment of awareness loosens their grip and returns me to the stillness and clarity of the present moment.
Photography grounds me, deepens my thinking, and challenges me to create more meaningful images. It is how I listen to life. How I come home to myself. And how I invite others to do the same.
